Industrial Training Fund (ITF) DG, Joseph Ari In Recruitment Scandal


The recruitment exercise by industrial training fund (ITF) in August 2019 is enmeshed in a Manipulation scandal after some candidates from one section of the country were alleged to be employed in the agency. Rather Than Opening up the Process to the general public, he allocated the slots to Himself and cronies.

There was no advertisement of vacant positions in the national dailies for at least two weeks for the general public to apply and undergo rigorous recruitment process. According to the petition made available to the press by concerned citizens, the ITF DG Joseph Ari employed a total of 487 senior and junior staff which was characterized by marginalization and manipulation with names from a section of the country. The concerned citizens on 15th June 2020, made available to news men the Petition condemning the recruitment exercise, and raising further eyebrows.

The Concern citizens, therefore call on president Buhari to stop the recruitment exercise to enable a renew of the process and adoption of the normal system. Thousands of University Graduates are out there looking for Jobs. Some graduated from the university more than five years ago but are yet to stabilize their lives. Yet a Director General who is ought to be above board in word and deed employed a total of 487 staff without due process.

All efforts to hear from the industrial training fund (ITF) proved abortive as calls and text messages were not responded to by the director B.T.D ITF, Aminu Hassan.
